Northern Lights A classic cannabis strain
Northern Lights is a cherished and multi-award winning strain of Indica with genetic roots stretching to Afghanistan.
This legendary strain has provided the genetic foundation for many of the most beloved Indica-dominant and Indica-contributor strains such as Chronic, White Widow, Haze, Fruit Spirit, Royal Moby, and our Special Kush, to name a few.
As is the case with many legends, Northern Lights comes to us with an aura of mystery, and there are a variety of accounts as to its origin. It is believed that the original Afghani roots of this intriguing strain were already a blend of Indicas, though there is suspicion among some that even those original Afghanistan seeds had a touch of Sativa.
Once those seeds reached the west coast of America, (possibly northern California first, and then surely Oregon) the first several strains of 11 were created by cross and inbreeding by a fellow known as "The Indian." NL#1 was further cultivated into a series of strains by Neville Schoenmaker in the Netherlands.
The Northern Lights seeds that we offer are 100% S1 Afghani Indica, with the full robust mind and body experience that Northern Lights is renowned for. With a THC potency of 18% along with a medium potency of CBD, this is a great herb to assist and amplify one's meditation and relax one to sleep.
She is also rated highly for euphoria, happiness, and creativity, once one gets up from the couch. This is an herb to savor and ingest one toke at a time. Medical users will appreciate the pain relieving and muscle relaxing benefits along with the uplifting easing of anxieties and stress, and healing CBD benefits that Northern Lights provides.
Our Northern Lights strains - like all Royal Queen seeds, are feminized, so growers can be assured of a bountiful harvest after a moderately patient growing season. Depending upon one's personal climate environment, one can expect flowering to begin after the seventh week, and harvest after the 10th or 11th week, but depending upon one's personal environment, she make take a few weeks longer.
Remember that Northern Lights Afghan heritage brings a growing preference for abundant sun, as well as a propensity to be drought-resistant. However, this hearty plant grows to a very respectable height and density, so she will be hungry for well-prepared soil, gentle feeding, and water. One of her favorite attributes for growers is that she is sturdy, hearty, and relatively easy to grow.
Indoor growers should see Northern Lights reach a height of 100 to 160 centimeters, and bear a yield 500 to 550 grams per meter-squared. Outdoor crops will reach a height of 180 to 220 centimeters and bear 575 to 625 grams per plant starting in late September.
Our Northern Lights auto-flowering seeds have a 20% cross with Ruderalis, producing plants that are a bit smaller and quicker to harvest. Indoor growers should see 80 to 120 centimeters in height while maintaining a yield of 500 to 550 grams per meter-squared. Outdoor crops will reach 130 to 160 centimeters and bear a yield of 170 to 220 grams per plant - dried.
