Why bother using regular cannabis seeds? Don’t they just crowd the growing space with males that growers need to sex and separate later on?
Sure, for some growers, regular seeds are more work than they’re worth. But don’t forget, we need regular seeds to ensure we have access to new strains and strong genetics. Breeders rely on regular cannabis seeds to access both flowers and pollen from female and male plants.
Using regular seeds, growers can pursue their own breeding projects at home. If you find a strain with an incredible terpene profile, and another with a pleasant high, you can cross them and create a cultivar that expresses both of these traits.
Apart from breeding, regular seeds are also a source of hardy and reliable genetics. Growers need them when they plan on growing from cuttings. Unlike feminized specimens, regular mother plants provide viable genes that create flourishing and productive clones.
