Northern Light Auto
Originating in the United States, Northern Light genetics have risen to prominence across the global weed scene. Among this strain family, Northern Light Auto has become a particularly popular Dutch strain. With an average frost-free growing season[1] that takes place between March 10th and September 23rd, Northern Light Auto is perfectly suited to the climate in the Netherlands. Sow seeds directly into 11-litre pots indoors around one week before your local final frost date. They’ll germinate in a couple of days, and seedlings will stand at around 3cm by the end of the first week of the growing cycle. Expect plants to surge to around 30cm during week three, and up to around 50cm by the end of veg.
Northern Light Auto stretches dramatically during bloom and can reach a maximum height of 160cm. Highlights of the first few weeks of bloom include rapid flower development and increased trichome density. Towards the end of flowering, her pistils will take on an amber colour and parts of her foliage will begin to yellow. Flush your plants 1–2 weeks before harvest and prepare to pull in up to 220g/plant after a growing cycle of 10–12 weeks.
As the progeny of the original Northern Light and a high-performing ruderalis specimen, Northern Light Auto possesses a moderate THC content of 14% as well as fruity, peppery, and piney terpenes. Enjoy a light and relaxing body high.

Cookies Gelato
Cookies Gelato ranks as one of the most potent cultivars in the Royal Queen Seeds catalogue, which has helped this variety emerge as one of the most popular strains in the Netherlands. Start seeds indoors in early spring to ensure they mature before your local first frost date arrives at the end of the outdoor growing season. Sow seeds into cell trays and maintain a temperature of around 25°C for optimal germination and seedling development. Transplant seedlings outdoors directly from their cell trays, or pot them up into 1-litre pots and keep them indoors if frost seems likely. Once the risk of frost has passed, transplant into large containers in a sunny position. Your plant will reach a height of around 100cm by the end of veg if left untrained.
When grown in a big enough container, Cookies Gelato stretches to a height of 180cm during early bloom, opening up her canopy and allowing for adequate aeration and light penetration. Remove lower yellowing leaves throughout bloom and flush two weeks prior to harvest. Prepare to move your containers indoors or into a greenhouse during the end of the growing season, as your plants won’t reach harvest until the middle of October. Get ready to harvest 600–650g/plant.
Cookies Gelato descends from legendary parent strains Girl Scout Cookies and Gelato 33. Her THC content of 28% delivers a fast-acting and extremely powerful high accompanied by flavours of citrus, earth, fruit, and mint.

Amnesia Haze
Amnesia Haze has served as a go-to strain in the coffeeshops of Amsterdam for decades now. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that cultivators in the Netherlands love to grow this strain themselves. While somewhat challenging to grow outdoors due to the short growing season in the country, the variety rewards growers with great yields in return for the extra work required. Start seeds indoors in early spring in 1-litre pots; this will provide them with enough room to grow before the last frosts of the season. Then, transplant into large pots outdoors in a south-facing location. Expect your specimens to grow to around 100cm by the end of the vegetative phase.
Amnesia Haze will stretch to 175–210cm during bloom, depending on pot size. Her flowering time of 10–11 weeks means plants reach harvest by the end of October. As such, move your containers either indoors or into the protection of a greenhouse from mid-September to prevent frost damage. Flush plants two weeks before harvest and gear up to pull in up to 700g/plant.
Descending directly from Original Amnesia Haze, this popular Dutch weed strain possesses a THC content of 22% and produces a happy, giggly, uplifting, and physically relaxing high. Flavours of citrus, earth, peppers, and herbs make each hit a delight.

Cookies Gelato Auto
Perfectly suited to the short Dutch growing season, Cookies Gelato Auto is high up the list of Netherlands weed recommendations. Sow seeds directly into 11-litre pots, keep them moist, and expect shoots to pierce through the soil within the next 2–3 days. Keep your containers under a strong lamp indoors until the seedlings reach a height of 5–10cm. Then, position them outdoors in a spot that receives full sun. Use netting for the first week to prevent birds from attacking your young plants. Your Cookies Gelato Auto plants will stand at around 10cm by the end of week two. Feed your plants with a formula high in nitrogen and they'll grow to 25–30cm by the end of the vegetative phase.
Cookies Gelato Auto will enter the flowering stage during the fifth week of the growing cycle. Switch to a feed higher in potassium and phosphorus to assist flower development, and expect a weak smell to emerge during the first couple weeks of bloom. Your plants will stretch to a maximum height of 140cm if left untrained, or peak at 80cm if subject to LST. Flush your plants during the last two weeks of the growing cycle and watch them develop a stunning dark purple appearance as anthocyanin expression increases. Make sure you have enough stash jars to store up to 140g/plant.
As the progeny of Cookies Gelato and Big Skunk Auto, Cookies Gelato Auto possesses an impressive THC content of 23%. Expect a balanced, creative, and long-lasting high augmented by flavours of cookies, earth, fruit, and honey.

Amnesia Haze Auto
As the autoflowering version of Amnesia Haze, Amnesia Haze Auto offers most of the captivating traits of the original strain alongside a much quicker growing time. More suited to the climate of the Netherlands, Amnesia Haze Auto has become a go-to Dutch cannabis strain for those growing in gardens or on balconies. Start seeds indoors by sowing them directly into 11-litre pots. Maintain a humidity of 55% and a temperature of around 24°C, and shoots will emerge within 2–3 days. Your plants will grow to 5cm within the first week of sprouting. Place them outdoors in a sunny position and watch them grow up to 10cm throughout week three, and up to 25–30cm by the end of the vegetative phase. Defoliate generously during the transition into flowering to expose all pre-flowers to direct light.
Throughout bloom, Amnesia Haze Auto will stretch to 120cm when untrained. Her large and dense colas require lower humidity during late bloom to keep mould at bay. Consider moving your pots either into a greenhouse or indoors if faced with high humidity and/or persistent rainfall. Defoliate where necessary to maintain good airflow and light penetration into the canopy. Flush the substrate during the final two weeks of bloom and prepare to harvest up to 180g/plant following a total growing cycle of 11–12 weeks.
Amnesia Haze Auto exerts a clear-headed and uplifting high resulting from a THC content of 18% and a medium concentration of CBD. Flavours of citrus, earth, herbs, and pepper make for a pleasant savoury experience.
