Web analytics service (anonymous data)

On this website we have integrated an element of a web analytics service (with anonymisation functionality). Web analytics can be defined as the gathering, processing and analysis of data about the behaviour of visitors to websites. An analytics service collects, among other things, data about which website a person came from (the so-called referrer), which sub-pages they visited or how often and for how long they visited a sub-page. Web analytics is mainly used for website optimisation and for a cost–benefit analysis of internet advertising.

Courier service

To complete deliveries we use a courier service. This courier service carries out the delivery between our company and the consumer's home. To complete these logistics, the company requires access to the consumer's name and address information.

Mailing service

Royal Queen Seeds uses a third-party mail service provider to send its newsletter. This provider has access to limited account information related to opt-in consent (e.g. email address).

Marketing services

Royal Queen Seeds has the support of a company that specialises in marketing and communication activities. Their access to personal information is very limited and mostly anonymous.

Payment services

At Royal Queen Seeds we use external payment services to handle our transactions (e.g. credit card payments).

SECTION 6 – SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry standard best practices to ensure that it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored using AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional industry standards that are commonly accepted. Information related to the account is protected with a hashing method. This method transforms the information into a generated hash. As a result, confidential information is protected and invisible, even to us. In addition, our databases are exceptionally protected against unauthorised access. For example, access to the database is only possible and permitted via approved IP addresses (e.g. from Royal Queen Seeds headquarters). Other attempts and addresses are rejected at all times.

Furthermore, data is anonymised as much as possible, so it cannot be directly linked to a specific consumer. With this data, however, we may be able to carry out market research and analysis. In addition, the third parties concerned (e.g. mailing service) are examined prior to our collaboration, comply with the GDPR from the EU and receive a processing agreement. Within Royal Queen Seeds, employees are assigned different access permissions. Specific permission provides access only to information that is strictly required to perform a task. Digital security measures are subject to change and must meet high requirements to ensure the safety of online customers. That is why, at Royal Queen Seeds, we appoint a security officer. Regular verification and improvement of security measures (where necessary) are part of the role.

• Lights: MIGRO 200+
• Ventilation: Blauberg Turbo - E 100
• Fan: Oscillating Koala Fan
• Humidifier: Beurer LB 45

• Soil: BioBizz Light Mix
• Pot: 11l Fabric Pot from RQS
• Seed: Royal Queen Seeds
• Nutrition: RQS Organic Nutrition and BioBizz

Green Gelato Automatic Grow Report: Seedling Stage (Week 1)

Week 1

Being familiar with Green Gelato Automatic, I had a good idea of what to expect during this grow. I decided to take a minimalist approach by sowing my seed directly in its final container, which I then placed into a small grow box alongside two different cultivars. Check out what I did to ensure a successful seedling stage below.

  • Growing medium: To kick things off, I prepared the growing medium by placing 10l of BioBizz Light Mix onto a plastic tarp. I then added 50g of RQS Easy Boost Organic Nutrition pellets and 5g of RQS Easy Roots Mycorrhiza Mix, and thoroughly mixed the medium together. These amendments supplied my plant with a range of key nutrients throughout the early stages of growth, as well as biologicals to increase nutrient uptake and defend against soil pathogens. Finally, I added the mix into my RQS Geotextile Fabric Pot and watered to the point of saturation.
  • Lighting: I hung my MIGRO 200+ lamp from the top of the grow box using the hanging wires, and positioned it 35cm away from the rim of the pot. I set it to run for 24 hours a day as soon as the shoot emerged from the soil.
  • Germination: I made a 3cm hole in the centre of the surface of the growing medium, inserted 1g of Mycorrhiza Mix, placed the seed inside, lightly covered it with soil, and misted lightly.
  • Environment: I measured an average temperature of 26°C and a relative humidity of 60%.
  • Plant status: By the end of the seedling stage, my plant stood at around 6cm tall and had its first set of true leaves. It showed no signs of legginess or weakness thanks to the position of my lighting and an oscillating fan.

Green Gelato Automatic Week-by-Week Grow Guide: Vegetative Stage (Weeks 2–4)

Week 2 marked the official start of the vegetative phase. I started to apply liquid nutrients during this time to facilitate growth and stave off potential deficiencies. Thanks to her spectacular growing speed, Green Gelato Automatic only vegged for 2 weeks before preflowers started to show.

Week 2

Week 2

My plant packed on some size during week 2 and looked vibrant overall.

  • Lighting: I repositioned the light to continue to hang 35cm from the tip of my plant, and kept it running for 24 hours each day to maximise photosynthesis.
  • Nutrients: As my plant grew, its demand for nitrogen and other key nutrients increased. To meet this demand, I mixed the following nutrients into 1.5l of water regulated to a pH of 6.0, and applied this formula on days 3 and 7 of week 2:
    • 3ml liquid amino acids
    • 3ml aloe vera extract
    • 3ml liquid fish extract
  • Environment: Average temperature rose slightly to 27°C and humidity hovered at around 60%.
  • Plant status: By the end of week 2, I measured a height of 16cm. My plant had developed several new sets of large and luscious fan leaves, and the stem had thickened significantly with no signs of legginess. Thanks to the aeration and drainage that fabric pots provide, my plant showed no signs of root rot.

Week 3

Week 3

My plant had already entered the last week of veg. I continued to administer the same nutrient regimen with good results.

  • Lighting: I readjusted my lamp to sit 35cm above the tip of the canopy and continued to keep it on for 24 hours each day.
  • Nutrients: I applied the same nutrient formula as last week on day 4 of week 3:
    • 3ml liquid amino acids
    • 3ml aloe vera extract
    • 3ml liquid fish extract
  • Environment: Temperature and humidity clocked in at 27°C and 55%, respectively.
  • Plant status: My plant seemed mostly healthy at this point. It stood at 26cm and had developed more tightly spaced fan leaves. I started to notice slight shrivelling and yellowing on the tips of some of the other leaves. Due to high temperatures and lower humidity, I put it down to slight dehydration.

Green Gelato Automatic Grow Guide: Flowering Stage (Weeks 4–10)

Week 4 marked the beginning of the flowering stage. Preflowers had started to form, and I adjusted liquid nutrients to provide more potassium and phosphorus.

Week 4

Week 4

I was excited to see Green Gelato Automatic start to flower. Her smell remained minimal at this point, and the yellowing on the upper leaves became slightly worse.

  • Lighting: To give the upper leaves a break, I positioned my lamp 50cm above the tip of my plant to reduce any potential heat stress. I also reduced the running time to 20 hours on and 4 hours off.
  • Nutrients: I applied the following formula to 1.5l of pH-adjusted water and administered it on days 2, 4, and 6 of the week:
    • 2.25ml CaMg+
    • 3ml liquid amino acids
    • 3ml aloe vera extract
    • 3ml sugar beet extract
    • 1.5ml organic flowering fertiliser
    • 1.5ml flowering stimulator
    • 1.5ml liquid seaweed
  • Environment: Temperature remained at 27°C and humidity at 55%.
  • Plant status: My plant appeared happy at the end of the first week of flowering. It had reached a height of 41cm, and small buds started to form all over the canopy. Despite keeping my fan running most of the time and moving the light further away, the top leaves still seemed to struggle from the heat due to my local climate.

Week 5

Week 5

Things continued to look good during week 5. My plant looked healthy overall with no signs of deficiency or disease, which confirmed that the yellow tips at the top of the plant stemmed from abiotic environmental factors.

  • Lighting: I maintained a distance of 50cm from the top of the canopy to my lamp, and kept it running for 20 hours each day.
  • Nutrients: I applied 1.5l of nothing but pH-regulated water on day 2 of the week. On day 5, I applied almost the same nutrient profile as last week to 1.5l of pH-regulated water, with a few minor concentration tweaks:
    • 2.25ml CaMg+
    • 3ml liquid amino acids
    • 3ml aloe vera extract
    • 3ml sugar beet extract
    • 3ml organic flowering fertiliser
    • 1.5ml flowering stimulator
    • 3ml liquid seaweed
  • Environment: Despite periodically opening the grow box door, the temperature rose even higher to 29°C and humidity averaged at 55%.
  • Plant status: My plant stood at a height of 48cm by the end of the week. The buds seemed to be forming nicely and a slight smell of terpenes started to permeate the air. The yellow tips on the upper plants became less of a concern as my plant showed no other signs of deficiency or disease. I conducted some light defoliation on day 2 of the week before watering in hopes of promoting airflow throughout the canopy.

Weeks 6 & 7

Weeks 6 & 7

Things went great during weeks 6 and 7. I applied the same nutrient formula during both weeks. My plant maintained a stealthy height throughout and didn’t stretch much during the entire flowering phase.

  • Lighting: I readjusted my lamp slightly to sit 50cm above the tip of the growing canopy and kept it running for 20 hours each day.
  • Nutrients: I administered 1.5l of pH-regulated water containing 2.25ml of CaMg+ on day 2 of weeks 6 and 7. On day 5 of both weeks, I added the following nutrients to 1.5l of pH-regulated water:
    • 2.25ml CaMg+
    • 6ml liquid amino acids
    • 6ml aloe vera extract
    • 6ml sugar beet extract
    • 4.5ml organic flowering fertiliser
    • 1.5ml flowering stimulator
    • 4.5ml liquid seaweed
  • Environment: Temperature remained at around 28°C. The humidity started to rise slightly, so I turned on my dehumidifier to bring it to an average of 60%.
  • Plant status: My plant looked healthy and the buds started to look frosty and more mature with their pistils becoming increasingly orange. By the end of week 7, my plant stood at a stealthy final height of 50cm.

Weeks 8, 9 & 10

Week 9

I started the flushing process at the start of week 8. I restricted all nutrients and only applied pH-regulated water to force my plant to use up its nutrient reserves.

  • Lighting: My plant had stopped growing vertically, so I kept my lamp in the same position. I maintained a cycle of 20 hours on and 4 hours off.
  • Nutrients: I applied 1.5l of pH-regulated water on days 2 and 5 of the remaining weeks.
  • Environment: Temperature hovered at around 28°C and humidity decreased to 50%.
  • Plant status: My Green Gelato Automatic plant started to unleash her full terpene profile into the air during the final weeks. Her lower leaves became progressively yellow as her nitrogen content diminished, and her buds became thick, frosty, and almost ready for processing. I performed some defoliation during week 10 to ensure all of the plant's energy was focused on the buds.

Green Gelato Automatic Grow Report: Harvest (Week 11)

Week 11

I used a loupe at the start of week 11 and found that most of Green Gelato Auto's trichomes had become milky and opaque—a surefire sign to start harvesting! I cut my plant at the base and hung it upside down in the grow box. Once dry, I trimmed off the sugar leaves and weighed a total yield of 53g from my compact plant. Then, I transferred my buds to glass Weed Jars, placed Humidity Control Packs in each, and let them cure for 6 weeks.
