RQS 450 W LED Grow Light: Full-Spectrum Power for Large-Canopy Grows
At the top of our new RQS cultivation range, the 450 W LED pairs with our 120x120x200 cm grow tent and the commercial-style grows that fit in it. 2100 full-spectrum LED chips across a 100x100 cm panel deliver 450 W of draw and up to 1074 μmol/m²/s PPFD at the canopy, enough intensity to run a full 12-to-16 plant SCROG table or a rolling perpetual with plants entering bloom every two weeks. Scaling a grow is usually where coverage uniformity starts to drift; this fixture is engineered so it does not.
Canopy Uniformity at 120x120 cm Scale
A bigger fixture does not automatically mean a more even canopy. Light falls off predictably with distance from each diode, and any panel smaller than the tent floor below it will drop intensity at the edges faster than under the centre. The 450 W panel measures 100x100 cm, casting over a 120x120 cm tent footprint with a 10 cm overlap border at every edge. That border is where the 2100 diodes do the uniformity work: corner readings average roughly 614 μmol/m²/s across the whole canopy at 45 cm, against an 859 μmol/m²/s peak directly under the fixture at the same height. An edge-to-centre ratio this tight at 120x120 cm scale is what keeps your outside-row colas from finishing visibly lighter than the centre at harvest.
Working the PPFD Curve in Larger Tents
Different phases want different intensities. The 450 W peaks at up to 1074 μmol/m²/s at 30 cm from the canopy, eases to 859 μmol/m²/s at the standard 45 cm working height, and holds 692 μmol/m²/s at 60 cm. Use the curve as a grow-stage dimmer: hang high during veg for a gentler canopy, drop to 45 cm through stretch and early flower, and bring the fixture closer over the densest plants at peak bloom, where the 1000+ μmol/m²/s range pays off in bud density. Multi-plant, multi-phenotype grows use this working range to favour the tallest plants without burning the shortest.
Coverage and Pot Capacity in a 120x120 cm Tent
The 450 W is sized for our 120x120x200 cm grow tent and comfortably runs 12 to 16 plants in 11 L fabric pots: enough canopy density for a full commercial-style SCROG table or a rolling perpetual with four plants entering bloom every two weeks. At that scale, even canopy distribution is what keeps yields consistent plant-to-plant. Outside-row plants see roughly the same PPFD budget as centre-row plants, which shows up at harvest in trichome density and cola weight.
