What is the difference between indica and sativa?

Indica and sativa primarily differ in their growth characteristics:

  • Indica: Generally shorter and bushier, with broad, dark green leaves and dense buds. They also tend to have a quicker flowering time.
  • Sativa: Typically taller and lankier, with thin, light green leaves and airy buds. They usually take longer to flower.

There’s a common myth about the effects of these strains. Sativas are often thought to be uplifting and energizing, while indicas are seen as sedating and relaxing. In reality, these terms refer to the morphological traits of each subspecies—not their effects. Any differences in effects are due to the terpenes present in the strain.
